YAOUNDÉ, Cameroon — The Association of Amateur Football Clubs of Cameroon called for an official investigation into the Cameroonian Football Federation and its President, Samuel Eto’o, on September 15, 2026, following allegations of financial improper conduct.
Golden Info reports that the Association of Amateur Football Clubs of Cameroon raised concerns over media reports alleging Samuel Eto’o improperly received funds tied to an October 2023 friendly match between Cameroon and Russia.
The Association of Amateur Football Clubs of Cameroon alleged the Russian Football Union violated contractual terms with the Cameroonian Football Federation by transferring 567,000 euros ($654,000) into a bank account not registered to the governing body.
The organization announced plans to file a lawsuit against Samuel Eto’o in Cameroonian courts alongside a separate legal complaint targeting the Russian Football Union in Russia.
The development follows Samuel Eto’o expressing support last month for Fédération Internationale de Football Association President Gianni Infantino, who faces pressure to resign over a World Cup sell-off plan.
