Dangote Refinery Opens N2.15tn IPO on Nigerian Exchange

LAGOS, Nigeria — President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, sound the gong at the Nigerian Exchange on Monday, September 14, 2026, to launch the N2.15tn ($1.34bn) Initial Public Offering of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals.

Golden Info reports that Aliko Dangote opened the subscription for 4.1 billion new ordinary shares priced at N525 ($0.33) per share on the trading floor in Lagos, Nigeria. The offer requires a minimum subscription of 10 shares valued at N5,250 ($3.28). The subscription period is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026, subject to the terms contained in the prospectus.

The offer gives retail, institutional, and eligible African investors the opportunity to acquire an equity stake in the facility, which is Africa’s largest refinery. The launch marks the first time a refinery has been listed on the Nigerian Exchange in its 66-year history.

“As a group, we will list every company that we operate,” Dangote said during the listing ceremony.

Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, attended the ceremony alongside members of the Dangote family and business associates on Monday, September 14, 2026.
