Washington, United States — Former United States President Joe Biden is experiencing an aggressive spread of prostate cancer to his bones, according to an update provided on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
Golden Info reports that Hunter Biden discussed his father’s worsening health condition during an interview with the BBC published on Saturday.
Hunter Biden stated the disease has metastasised beyond its initial site and described the physical toll of the illness. “I wish he would complain more, because it’s not good — the cancer has spread,” Hunter Biden said.
He further detailed the severity of the symptoms his father is experiencing. “It’s very painful… very debilitating,” Hunter Biden said. “Cancer is really hard. It’s really sad to watch.”
Addressing his father’s role within their household, Hunter Biden said, “My dad is, to this day, the centre of our family. He’s the best father, the best husband, the best grandfather.”
Joe Biden initially announced his diagnosis of an aggressive form of prostate cancer in May 2025. Last month, the former president indicated he was responding well to a six-week medication regimen.
“I’m dealing with a cancer diagnosis, been getting treatment, and it’s going really well,” Joe Biden said. “I want to thank all those who have offered their prayers and support and well-wishes. It’s meant the world to me and to Jill.”
Joe Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race in July 2024, and his memoir, Promise Me, America, is scheduled for publication in November.
