LAGOS, Nigeria — Prophet Itunu Onadeko, the fiancé of late Nigerian actress Temitope Osoba, alleged on Saturday, August 8, 2026, that she died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State, contradicting public speculation that she succumbed to breast cancer complications.
Golden Info reports that Onadeko made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, stating he was notified of the death at approximately 12:00 a.m. WAT. “It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.
The religious leader, who serves as the Shepherd-in-charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in the Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki area of the state, stated he did not know the specific station where the 40-year-old actress died but reported himself to a nearby police facility. He said the actress left their church about three weeks prior to her death, which occurred on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Onadeko dismissed allegations that he had access to N30 million ($18,750) donated for her prior cancer surgery by individuals including Nigerian businessman Mike Adenuga, or that he used the funds to build his church. “Who has an evidence that the money she got for her surgery is N30m? It wasn’t my account they sent the money to, it was hers. And I didn’t use the money to build church as rumoured. What I know is that people gave her money including Mike Adenuga who offered her a cheque. I never had access to her money,” he said.
The fiancé also denied claims that the actress was poisoned or subjected to maltreatment while they lived together. He stated that they resided in an apartment owned by her uncle and that she maintained control of her own finances and vehicle until her death.
The actress is scheduled to be buried on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in Iperu Remo, Ogun State.
