ABUJA, Nigeria — A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, ordered the final forfeiture of assets valued at N8.9 billion ($5.93 million) linked to Nigerian businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday, July 16, 2026, following proceedings at 1:40 p.m. WAT.
Golden Info reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission secured the final forfeiture order after arguing before the court that the properties were directly linked to unlawful activities.
The seized assets include jewellery valued at N4.65 billion ($3.1 million), 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.29 billion ($2.86 million), $50,000, and N30 million ($20,000) in cash.
The presiding judge, Justice Jude Onwugbuzie, granted the commission’s application and issued the judgment for the permanent forfeiture of the specified jewellery, vehicles, and cash to the state.
