PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria — All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Princewill Dike called on former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi on October 15, 2026, to address questions raised by Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, regarding the management of public resources during his administration.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Princewill Dike said public office holders must remain willing to clarify questions concerning their stewardship, particularly when issues relating to public resource management are brought into the public domain. Golden Info reports that Princewill Dike argued that referring to past political relationships would not necessarily resolve disagreements over governance and accountability.
Princewill Dike maintained that addressing the issues raised by Nyesom Wike could help promote transparency and strengthen public confidence in political leaders. Rotimi Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation and vice-presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), served as governor of Rivers State before Nyesom Wike succeeded him.
Princewill Dike also expressed reservations regarding the political prospects of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Rotimi Amaechi, urging citizens to consider accountability and transparency when evaluating individuals seeking public office. Princewill Dike stressed the necessity of protecting public resources and ensuring that political leaders remain accountable to the electorate.
Rotimi Amaechi did not provide a statement regarding the issues referenced by Princewill Dike at the time of publication.
